KENDL WINTER: bio
Kendl Winter is a dreamer of dark clouds. She has a drawer stuffed with stolen socks. And she picks banjo and guitar and makes good driving music. Born in Arkansas and based in Olympia, Washington, Kendl performs as a solo artist with a loop pedal, guitars, banjos. She twists those instruments into captivating melodies, sometimes in the form of country music. Kendl writes and plays with various touring bands out of the Pacific Northwest including the The Blackberry Bushes, The Pasties, Southern Skies and It's All Gotta Go. Her fourth solo album, and first release for K, Apple Core [KLP224], was self-recorded on a boat in the Puget Sound and a house on the west side of town. It could be called country. It features sweet and sad songs with layers of harmonies over banjo, guitar, dobro and piano.
