Hello. My name is Geneviève and I am a french-speaking person from Québec in Canada. When I was a teenager I heard Bristish bands like SUBHUMANS and CRASS and everything around me took a new meaning. My friends and I would get together in a basement and make music, mostly Minor Threat covers and then some weird originals which were never played the same way and never recorded. I have always been very moved by music and always have wanted to be a participant but I won't lie: my main love is drawing. I do not see really myself as a visual artists nor a musician. I just make things and they happen to be what they are. I wrote songs under the name WOELV for a few years, did some touring. Opened for bands. Recorded with Calvin and Phil and Karl. I enjoyed it very much, it was wonderful. Now I feel as though I have moved on with excitement. I have started a new project called "Ô PAON". It probably would sound just the same to a stranger, but I am very excited about making new music and starting from scratch. I love repetition but I hope not to do the same thing too many times. I like to write lyrics which leave one wondering. I like asking questions. I write dark. I like dark. Dark is okay. My words are all in French (the only language I have spoken my whole life) and most of what is said is lost on my audience but that is just fine. I find English boring and I feel as though I would not communicate anything which has not already been said if I sang in English. I do not master that language well enough to make the kind of poetry I would find decent and there would be misunderstandings anyway. I have been living in the Pacific Northwest region of North-America for ten years now. It isn't home, yet it is. My roots are my own two feet.
