TARA JANE ONEIL will have a solo art show exhibition at the IPRC in Portland on First Thursday (Sept 2). TJO will also be playing the Time Based Art Festival at The Works in Portland on September 17 with six drummers (Rachel Carns, Rachel Blumberg, Kanako Wynkoop, Sara Lund, Lisa Schoenberg and Daphna Kohn).

To mark the five-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina -- and in response to the Gulf Oil Disaster also deeply affecting the region -- Air Traffic Control (a nonprofit resource for activist and philanthropic musicians) has produced Dear New Orleans, a digital music benefit compilation for the people of the Gulf. This compliations features a song by Mirah and other musicians, and can be purchased for download on August 24 from http://www.dearneworleansmusic.org
